It was a few years since Body Awareness left the corner of North Wellwood and West Hoffman Avenues. It left behind a huge storefront in the heart of the Village of Lindenhurst that was begging for a new business for quite a while.
But now it's filled with the signs of life, the sounds of a new business and the flavorful aromas of Italian food. Villa Gaia has moved into that corner anchor location across the street from Village Square and the LIRR train tracks.
Signs were up for quite a while telling residents that it was coming, and it's finally arrived, courtesy of the Tini family - the former owners of Bella Palermo in Babylon Village.

To welcome the new business into the neighborhood, the Lindenhurst Chamber of Commerce organized a recent ribbon-cutting ceremony where Chamber President along with various members welcomed owners Pino and Franco Tini's new Italian restaurant, Villa Gaia, to 101 North Wellwood Avenue.
The event was attended by the mayor and other officials from Village government, inclouding Deputy Mayor Kevin McCaffrey, as well as Deputy Village Administrator Doug Madlon. Lindenhurst-based Suffolk Legislator was also on hand.

"Thank you for choosing the Village of Lindenhurst to open your new restaurant. We wish you much success and welcome you to the Lindenhurst Community," Brennan and McCaffrey told the Tinis as they congratulated them on the opening of the new eatery.
