LINDENHURST, NY — Lindenhurst, like other Long Island communities, is no stranger to flooding. It's common enough that neighbors have even taken to kayaking through flooded streets.

About three-quarters of an inch of rain fell this particular day, Dec. 30, according to Weather Underground, but high tide and wind gusts of over 30 mph flooded at least one neighborhood, video on the Neighbors app showed.

In a short clip, taken around 1:15 p.m., one street appears completely washed out, impassable for cars and pedestrians alike.
