Weather Warnings Issued for Lindenhurst

National Weather Service issues several warnings due to the specter of severe thunderstorms.

Hazardous weather, in the form of severe thunderstorms and flooding, is heading to Lindenhurst and the rest of Long Island this afternoon. In fact, the skies have already opened up this afternoon to let some rain in town.

According to the National Weather Service, “There’s a slight risk of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and early this evening. The main threat is strong gusty winds and large hail. An isolated waterspout cannot be ruled out.”

This triggered a severe thunderstorm warning for New York City, with the storms – which could produce some heavy downpours and gusty winds throughout the afternoon – heading Northeast toward the Island.
