Week Eight Preview: Sachem North at Lindenhurst

After last week's big win for Bulldogs Varsity Football, is coming into this week's game on a high. And as the season heads into week eight, it's key for Lindy to keep its eye on the prize.

The team hosts tonight at the LMS field at 6 p.m., and North's Flaming Arrows are playing for a third straight regular season Division I title. The Bulldogs wouldn't mind spoiling that.

The Flaming Arrows, with a win, would have home field advantage and the top seed in the playoffs, which start November 4 and 5. 

However, Lindy could prove to be a for North. Last week the Bulldogs blanked , . Lindenhurst is 5-2 this season, and will be a playoff team, most likely the fifth seed if things play out the way they have.

Meanwhile, Sachem is coming off its biggest win of the season in terms of point margin and points scored. The Flaming Arrows beat , 56-14 - a team Lindy blanked a few weeks ago - on a special night in Sachem history with all of the peripheral activities also on hand.

In game battles: You may have heard of Dalton Crossan. If you think he's had a good season, just wait to see how he turns his jets on down the stretch. Success on the gridiron equals more touches for Crossan.

Meanwhile, Lindenhurst throws the ball often with sophomore quarterback Brad Witkowski who was 13-of-16 for 186 yards and three TDs last week against Sachem East. Lindy likes to air it out, so Sachem's secondary needs to be prepared.

Next up: The playoffs: First-round games are scheduled for November 4 and 5, but times, opponents and locations are still yet to be determined.
