2 Nassau Residents Busted With Crack, Heroin, Other Drugs: Police

Joanne Mcclenic and Markee Reeder were stopped Tuesday night and placed into custody, police said.

ISLAND PARK, NY — A Long Beach man and woman were taken into custody on Tuesday night for having narcotics, police said.

Joanne Mcclenic, 53, was in the driver’s seat and Markee Reeder, 47, was in the front passenger’s seat, when officers stopped the red Honda on Austin Boulevard with a rear license plate improperly affixed, police said.

Reeder attempted to destroy narcotics on him, police said. When officers placed him into custody, he became combative, pulling his arms away to destroy evidence and resist arrest, authorities said.

Police recovered more than 12 grams of a white, rocky substance, believed to be crack cocaine, more than 18 grams of a tan, powdery substance believed to be heroin, .32 grams of a brown, earthy substance believed to be psilocybin mushrooms, four alprazolam pills, one blue ecstasy, one yellow pill believed to be zolpidem tartrate, police said.

Reeder also had a tan, powdery substance believed to be heroin all over his hooded sweatshirt, police said.

Mcclenic was placed under arrest without incident. She is charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.

Reeder faces charges that include seven counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence and resisting arrest, police said.

Mcclenic was released on a desk appearance ticket. She is due back in court on Oct. 1. Reeder was scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday.
