Get the scoop on what's happening in the city each weekday.

Rain is expected throughout the day, with temperature in the low 50s, but there’s plenty to do indoors this Wednesday:

1. The Long Beach Waterfront Warriors will hold a fundraiser from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Latitude Bar and Grill, at 783 8th Avenue in Manhattan. Admission is $100 for this event that puts the funds toward bringing soldiers and their families to Long Beach to enjoy a summer vacation in the city.

2. Astronomy educator Larry Gerstman will take you on a journey through the latest technologies in his field, as well bring you behind the scenes of space missions, during his talk at 2:30 p.m. at the Long Beach Library.

3. West School will hold a “Math Matters” program for children in kindergarten through fifth grade at 6:30 p.m. This program is a platform to educate kids about the importance of math.
