Wednesday brings cloudy skies and rain with daytime temperatures in the high 60s. Here’s what else you need to know today:
1. Long Beach Patch looks to recruit some local bloggers to offer their original thoughts on this site. Read our announcement and contact us if you're interested in contributing or want more information: josephk@patch.com.
2. Wednesday is the deadline to file petitions to run for a seat on the Long Beach Board of Education. Petitions are filed with the district clerk at the administration office on Lido Boulevard.
3. Students of Long Beach Public Schools return to class this morning.
4. The West End Neighbors Civic Association will meet at 7 p.m. at the West End Community Center on Maryland Avenue. This meeting is open to the public to voice their thoughts on neighborhood and Long Beach-wide issues.
5. The Board of Trustees at the Long Beach Library will meet at 8 p.m. at the library. The public is invited to this meeting.
