Backyards and Bombers

Yes, I finally saw Four Leaf Jones Beach Air Show, but in more ways than I expected.

I’m sure many of you have attended the Air Show at some point. Perhaps only when your kids were still young. Some of you, maybe even every year after that.

Not me.

I didn’t want to deal with the traffic, the crowds.

But this year I did go, camera and iPhone at the ready. I got some pretty good shots for an Air Show newbie, some interesting videos too.

But as I’m a man of a certain age these days, I saw the show with new eyes. Not the eyes of the young Marine I once was, but as a seasoned civilian veteran, a veteran, like many of you, of the horrible news of war around our globe.

I reflected on that in my photo essay, Backyards and Bombers.
