Long Beach High School Announces Valedictorian And Salutatorian
The seniors finished with the highest grade-point averages in the 2026 graduating class.

LONG BEACH, NY. — Marissa Miller and Arsen Hrabko have been named Long Beach High School’s valedictorian and salutatorian after finishing with the highest grade point averages in the 2026 graduating class.
For Marissa, the honor comes after a high school career that included a stint as president of the national honor society at Long Beach, as well as the co-vice president of the math team, a member of the world language honor society and the Long Beach Color Guard. She’s also a co-founder of Beyond the Beaker, a science club at Long Beach, which district officials said she founded with a friend, "to share their love of science with peers."
Additionally, Marissa has been president of the Youth Wellness Council at Long Beach. Among the initiatives Marissa advocated for as president of the wellness council was The Well, a student wellness center at the school.

Arsen came to the United States from Ukraine before starting ninth grade at Long Beach, completing 14 Advanced Placement courses and studying alongside Marissa in the International Baccalaureate program. In addition to his academic studies, Arsen developed Calculus Company, a practice tool for students preparing for AB calculus exams. He also contributed to the school newspaper, and gave speeches on AP exams and computer science discussions.
“Marissa Miller and Arsen Hrabko are outstanding students whose dedication and character make them true role models for our younger learners,” Principal Andrew Smith said. “We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and look forward with great excitement to their future successes.”

Outside of school, Marissa has been a dancer since age four, and a competitive dancer since she was in first grade. Arsen is described as a dedicated and creative individual himself, speaking four languages and, “thriving in collaborative environments,” district officials said.
