Long Beach Rabbi Getting Honored At Int'l Holocaust Remembrance Day

It takes place on Jan. 27 at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building.

LONG BEACH, NY — Rabbi Jack Zanerhaft of Temple Emanu-El is being honored by Nassau County officials later this month.

As part of a ceremony for International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Zanerhaft, who is the son of Holocaust survivor parents, will speak at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building on Jan. 27.

The building's dome will be lit as this year marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.

Another honoree, Leonid Rozenberg, was part of the liberation at Auschwitz.
