Man Strikes Code Enforcement Agent With Vehicle In Nassau: Police
The man was arguing with the agent over a summons, and then he got into his vehicle and intentionally hit the agent, police say.
ISLAND PARK, NY — A man was arrested in connection with striking a code enforcement agent with a vehicle in Island Park on Thursday, Nassau police said.
Officers were called to Long Beach Road around 3:20 p.m. for a report of an assault on a Village of Island Park code enforcement agent, police said.
Matthew Sullivan, 37, of Island Park, was involved in an argument with an agent over a summons, police said. The argument escalated, and Sullivan got into his vehicle and intentionally struck the 25-year-old male agent with his vehicle, police said.

Sullivan was arrested without incident, police said.
The agent was brought to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment of his injuries, police said.

Sullivan was charged with second-degree assault. He is set to be arraigned on Friday at First District Court, at 99 Main St., Hempstead.
