March 22: Patch on Halftime Howie, Loop Pkwy Closed, Wine Night

The first week of spring is here and local temperatures are expected to reach into the low 50s. Here’s what else you need to know about Long Beach this Tuesday:

1. Yours truly will be appear on radio tonight to talk about Long Beach Patch. Tune into AM 1240 WGBB at 8 p.m. to listen to Long Beach radio personality Halftime Howie do his show “Broadcasting on the Beach.” As he does each Tuesday, Howie will talk with a variety of guests about local issues and events.

2. The Loop Parkway drawbridge will be closed today from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. as crews continue to make repairs to ensure its safety.

3.  The Long Beach Board of Education will hold a regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the Middle School. The Budget Advisory Committee is scheduled to make its budgetary recommendations to the board.

4.  Wine lovers, listen up! The Saloon on West Beech Street hosts a wine night every Tuesday and Wednesday from 4 to 10 p.m. Enjoy special menu selections, including choices of soup, salad and entrees, as well as two glasses of wine all for $25.95.
