Monday means Patch returns with five things you need to know each weekday. What’s the buzz around town? We’ll keep you informed about that civic association meeting that's expected to draw a crowd, the fundraiser volleyball games and any noteworthy stories you may have overlooked. Here’s what’s happing Monday:  

1. Remember East End residents, sanitation pickup is each Monday and Thursday in your neighborhoods, and Wednesday is citywide recycling. So get your garbage curbside this morning.

2. Baseball fans can head down to the diamond at Long Beach High School and watch the Marines host the first game in a three-game series against Mepham. First pitch is at 10:30 a.m.

3. Tie on your dancing shoes and step on over to the Allegria Hotel on West Broadway for Salsa dancing starting at 7:30 p.m.

4. Are you a voracious reader who enjoys talking books with others? Check out the Great Books discussion group at the Long Beach Library on West Park Avenue at 2 p.m. The group will . You just may find you’ll want to read the next book on their list and join the discussion in May.
