Memorial Day 2015: What's Open, Closed in Long Beach

Memorial Day is a federal holiday: Here’s what’s open and closed on Monday in Long Beach:

• All state, federal and local governmental offices are closed. There is no mail delivery.
• Banks and the New York financial markets are closed. ATMs should work.
• Massapequa Library is closed Monday. It will reopen for normal hours Tuesday.
• Massapequa schools are closed, as well; students return to classes on Tuesday.
• The LIRR is operating on a Saturday schedule on
• Many retail stores and most restaurants are generally open. Holiday hours may apply, particularly at area malls.
