Had Krommidas won while missing, a special election would have taken place to fill the seat. Instead, Mullaney will serve another term. Included in his district is Long Beach, where an all-Republican City Council will take shape in January.
Mullaney and the Long Beach City Council underscore a big night for Republican candidates in Nassau County, headlined by reelection wins for County Executive Bruce Blakeman and District Attorney Anne Donnelly.
