Oceanside Gym Owner Pulls Out Of Fitness Competition With Injury

OCEANSIDE, NY — Not only is the Olympics showcasing top athletes but there are also others participating in the CrossFit Games in Madison, Wisconsin.

One of those is Oceanside's own Lizzy Carson, who was 5th in the qualifying round among more than 800 women.

Carson, who is owner/coach at Concept Fitness in Oceanside, was 9th overall until an injury caused her to withdraw from the tournament.

CrossFit calls its competition "The Sport of Fitness," featuring people who "leave it all on the floor for a chance to earn the title of Fittest on Earth."
