Pedestrian Killed In Hit-And-Run In Island Park: Police
A 30-year-old man is dead after getting hit by a car in Island Park on Monday.
ISLAND PARK, NY — A 30-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run on Long Island, and authorities are searching for the driver.
The fatal collision happened shortly after 9 p.m. on Monday in Island Park.
Nassau County police say a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle heading south on Long Beach Road, just north of Marina Place. The man — Dodanim Emanuel Chavez, of Island Park — was rushed to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

As of Tuesday morning, authorities have not released any information about a possible hit-and-run driver or the vehicle they were in.
