LONG BEACH, NY. — Republicans swept the Long Beach City Council race Tuesday, according to unofficial tallies, as incumbent Michael Reinhart retained his seat and newcomers Tracey Johnson and George Ennis each won theirs.

According to unofficial results by the Nassau County Board of Elections, Reinhart collected 4,730 votes, or 18.17 percent, of the vote, while Ennis took 4,562 and Johnson accrued 4,555, giving them 17.52 and 17.49 percent of the vote respectively. The sweep brings an all-Republican slate to the City Council, with Ennis and Johnson joining Reinhart, Chris Fiumara and Council President Brendan Finn.

On an Election Day that saw Democrats win races in New York City, New Jersey and Virginia, Nassau County followed 2024 election trends and voted Republican in key races. County Executive Bruce Blakeman won reelection after securing an endorsement from President Donald Trump, while District Attorney Anne Donnelly and County Clerk Maureen O’Connell also won reelection.
