We were blessed. Although we sustained storm damage, our immediate family and friends are all healthy and safe. We have been working around the clock to get the restaurant ready for Thanksgiving so we can help those who lost their homes and let them forget their troubles for at least a little while,” said co-owner Anthony Gironta.

On Thursday the doors will be open at noon to 4 p.m. and families will begin to be seated immediately for a festive buffet dinner.  With 275 seats prepped and ready to be filled Serata is hoping to serve well over 500 guests.

“No matter what was ever going on in our home a good meal always brought our family together. Our customers are our family and we want nothing more than for them to at least enjoy their Thanksgiving as they rebuild their lives,” said co-owner Vincenzo Ferrara.

Serata South is located at 777 West Beech St.

Matthew Sorrentino of MS*AS Restaurant Consulting, whose family has been feeding Long Islander’s for years, formerly at the beloved chain of family style restaurants, Matteo’s, and currently at 388 Restaurant & Lounge in Roslyn and Chris & Tony’s Restaurant & Lounge in Syosset stated, “It’s not every day that we can bring so many people together from the food industry to help and provide holiday meals for family’s who can use a lift right now. As a property owner in Long Beach (Sorrentino owns the building in which Serata operates) I am glad I can help and will joyfully be serving food myself all day to our neighbors and friends.”

Any Long Island business or individual that would like to donate or assist is welcome to call Serata’s Manager Anthony at 516-341-8322 or email anthonymrg1@yahoo.com.
