At the annual Career Day event at Long Beach High School, students were able to speak one-on-one with more than 65 local professionals about careers in everything from business and finance, to art and communications, to architecture and construction, to law and public service.
The presenters, many of whom were Long Beach residents, business owners or alumni, answered questions about what type of education and skills are needed for their jobs, and tried to give students insight into the satisfying and challenging aspects of their day-to-day work. Students were also able to gather information about local summer employment opportunities.
