UPDATE: Cops ID Suspect in Long Beach Shooting
A person was found on the sidewalk in the West End with three gunshot wounds early Tuesday, police say.
A suspect is in custody after a shooting in Long Beach’s West End early Tuesday morning, Long Beach Police confirmed.
Brian Kelly, 28, of a Wyoming Avenue, “surrendered peacefully” at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday in his home, according to Long Beach Police Lt. Eric Cregeen.
The shooting was reported at 4:18 a.m. near the corner of Wisconsin and West Beech streets, officials said. A woman who lives at the corner of Beech and Wyoming Avenue posted on Twitter that she heard five gunshots ring out from her apartment.

Responding officers found the victim, a 45-year-old man whose identity has not been revealed, on the sidewalk with two gunshot wounds, Long Beach Police said.
Long Beach Fire Department rushed the man to Nassau University Medical Center where he underwent emergency surgery, Cregeen said. He is in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries, cops said.
