
A motorist drove his vehicle into a home in Long Beach on Wednesday afternoon and walked away uninjured.
According to Long Beach police, a man in an SUV drove into the driveway and struck the front porch at 369 W. Hudson Street, near the corner of Lafayette Boulevard, on July 27.
The Long Beach Fire Department received a call about the accident at 5:52 p.m. and was at the scene within three minutes, according to Chief Richard Corbett. No one was injured or trapped, and the driver was examined by LBFD medics but refused medical aid.
“There was no injuries on this,” said Deputy Inspector Bruce Meyer of the Long Beach Police Department. “There was property damage only.”

Meyer said that no arrests were made. While he did not have exact details about the accident, he indicated that it was a case in which two vehicles almost collided.
“Very often you have accidents where one vehicle is trying to avoid being hit by another vehicle,” he said.
