Triathlon Registration Underway For Annual Nassau Event

The Town of Hempstead Triathlon is scheduled for Sept. 17 at Town Park Point Lookout.

POINT LOOKOUT, NY — Registration is underway for the Town of Hempstead 2022 Triathlon.

The annual event covers roughly 14 miles at Town Park Point Lookout.

It is scheduled for Sept. 17 beginning at 8 a.m.

The triathlon allows athletic competition to combine with the great scenery of Point Lookout.

Participants will deal with a 3/4-mile ocean swim, a 10-mile bike ride and a three-mile run.

Along with honoring those who come in first, the top three male and female finishers for each age group will be awarded.

The deadline to sign-up is Monday, Sept. 12. No race-day registering will be permitted and the number of entrants is getting capped at 250, the town said.

Prices range from $24.25 for veterans to $72.50 for non-Town of Hempstead residents.

"I encourage all my neighbors across America’s largest township who are interested to register for this signature athletic event being held right here in our hometown," Supervisor Don Clavin said in a statement.
