I have a number of my horizon themed paintings on exhibit such as "Yellow Light" and "Electric" pictured here.
My artwork depicts an exploration of the concept of the horizon as a central theme where the horizon becomes a symbol of a boundary between the known and the unknown. The horizon in my work projects a sense of perspective, distance, and infinite possibilities. In such, I aim through my horizon work to illustrate emotions relating to personal journeys, the human experience and the connection to the larger world. The horizon artwork reflects an introspective exploration of how I perceive my place in the world, and how one confronts challenges. In such, I seek to capture moments of reflection, balance, and the constant movement between the familiar and the unknown. Moreover, the horizon in my art signifies hope, and the pursuit of new beginnings. Additionally, through dynamic color-play and composition, I invite viewers to consider their own personal interpretations of the horizon, offering a meditative and immersive experience. The paintings' compositions are created to evoke a sense of depth and vastness with a focus on the emotional significance of the horizon line. With a blending of soft and bold hues along with sweeping brushstrokes and gestural marks, there is a highlight to a fluid movement which allows the horizon to adopt different emotional qualities. The layers within the work reflect inner growth, and the passage of time. The horizon also serves as a metaphor for the unattainable while often creating a sense of longing and a look on to a distant future. In much of my work, the horizon is where the earth meets the sky, symbolizing a connection between different realms: the physical, and the emotional with attention on humanity’s place within nature and the cosmos. Consequently, my paintings that explore the horizon create a visual and emotional dialogue between alternative spaces while inviting the viewer to engage in uncharted territory that lies beyond the visible world.
Per Licthundfire, “BEYOND HORIZON” Exhibition addresses both figuratively and literally humanity’s quest to go beyond the boundaries of the horizon, Greek horizein = limit, and farther than the physical eye can see. The exhibition, conceptually and visually, questions the limits of our consciousness and reaches into our imagination, addressing the thirst to experience the realm beyond what we can both discern and foresee.
