Bill De Blasio To Host Lower Manhattan Town Hall

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY — Mayor Bill de Blasio will host a town hall on the Lower East Side next week, his office announced on Wednesday.
De Blasio, who is up for re-election this year, will host a town hall on June 21 with residents of District 1, which includes the Financial District, TriBeCa, the Lower East Side, Chinatown and SoHo, among other neighborhoods. The mayor will co-host the town hall with Council Member Margaret Chin, who represents District 1 in the NYC Council. Chin is also up for re-election this year, and faces multiple challengers for the seat. Manhattan borough president Gale Brewer and U.S. Representative Nydia Velásquez, who represents neighborhoods in Manhattan and Brooklyn in Congress, will also attend, de Blasio's office said.

District 1 residents are asked to RSVP to the town hall by Monday. It will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Chinatown YMCA, located at 273 Bowery.
