Here are the top stories in Lower East Side-Chinatown today:
- Police are searching for four female suspects who allegedly stabbed a 14-year-old girl in the thigh, and pepper-sprayed a 20-year-old woman after an argument in Lower Manhattan. The victims were by Bowling Green Park at about 9:40 p.m. on Saturday when they encountered the four suspects. The suspects fled into the Bowling Green subway station, and the NYPD released surveillance footage. (NBC New York)
- Police have identified the suspect wanted for a March 27 sexual assault along the Hudson River Greenway. Carl Phanor, 28, attacked the 39-year-old victim in the early morning as she jogged near West and Clarkson streets. The suspect last resided in a Lower East Side homeless shelter. (Patch)
- The next construction phase of Essex Crossing has begun and will see the replacement of the Essex Street Market building north of Delancey. Delancey Street Associates have filed applications for a 9-story mixed-use development with approximately 76 units. There have been no demolition permits filed. (Bowery Boogie)
