Here are the top stories in Lower East Side-Chinatown today:

  1. Transit police are searching for a suspect who fondled a 22-year-old woman at a Lower Manhattan subway station on Thursday morning. At approximately 7 a.m., the victim was approached while she sat on a bench along the R platform at the Cortlandt Street station and proceeded to follow her on the train. The victim was uninjured, and the police released a surveillance photo of the man. (AMNY)
  2. A new bookstore, P&T Knitwear, has announced its opening date for Memorial Day weekend. The new business on Orchard Street will occupy 3,000-square-feet at the base of Hotel Indigo. The owner, venture capitalist and philanthropist Bradley Tusk, partnered with bookseller Julie Wernersbach. (New York Daily News)
  3. Local eatery Forsythia is hosting a food filled block part on Sunday. The event will be held in and around its 9 Stanton St. restaurant and will kick off at noon. Among the local restaurants participating are Dame, Smashed, Caffè Panna, Yellow Rose, Mama’s Too. (Eater NY)
