DBGB To Close Because The LES Is 'Changing,' Chef Says
The popular kitchen and bar, named after NYC's closed CBGB club, will close its doors in August.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY — Daniel Boulud's DBGB Kitchen and Bar will close in August.
The Lower East Side bar and restaurant, located at 299 Bowery, will be open for the last time on Aug. 11. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)
Boulud, the eatery's chef, told Eater that the Lower East Side was changing, and that the location wasn't getting enough patrons during the week.

"The neighborhood is changing," he said.
Boulud also told the New York Times that dwindling weekday diners made the restaurant hard to sustain.

"In this location, it’s busy on weekends but erratic in the early part of the week," he said.
BDBG was open for eight years, serving a well-reviewed French menu featuring lots of meat.
