Driver Arrested In LES Hit-And-Run, Police Say

A driver who injured a pedestrian on Tuesday and then drove away from the scene was arrested on Tuesday, police said.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY — A driver who hit a pedestrian on the Lower East Side Tueday then fled the scene has ben arrested, police said.

The driver was stopped shortly after injuring the pedestrian on Chrystie Street near East Houston Street. An NYPD spokesman could not provide additional details about the accident or say what the driver was charged with.

The pedestrian was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, the spokesman said.
