Man Killed By Train At East Broadway Station, Police Say

A man was struck and killed by an F train at the East Broadway subway station, according to police.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY — A man was hit and killed by a subway train on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The man was struck by a train at the East Broadway subway station at about 3 p.m., an NYPD spokeswoman told Patch. Police confirmed that the man was killed by the train and declared dead at the subway station after officers responded. Police were not immediately able to identify the man, but said he is thought to have been in his 20's.

He was hit by a southbound F train at the station, according to the NYPD. It is unclear how he came to be on the tracks, and police are still investigating his death.

All trains were bypassing the station while police investigated the incident before regular service resumed at about 5:10 p.m., according to the MTA.
