MTA Bus Driver Arrested After Hitting Woman In Crosswalk: Police
Police say they arrested an MTA bus driver on Monday night after he hit a woman as she crossed the street, breaking her leg.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY — An MTA bus driver was arrested on Monday night after police said he hit a 61-year-old woman in a crosswalk, breaking her leg. For more news from the Lower East Side and Chinatown, sign up for Patch news alerts here.
The bus driver, Eduard Khanimov, was turning right onto Houston Street from Avenue D as he hit a woman crossing the street in the crosswalk, according to police. Authorities said the woman's leg was trapped under the bus by the collision, keeping her stuck at the intersection before EMS personnel responded.
The woman's leg was broken, and police said she was transported to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. Authorities said Khanimov was transported to Beth Israel hospital for trauma, but did not detail his injuries. Khanimov, 41, was charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian, according to the police department.
