LOWER EAST SIDE, NY — Police are still searching for the two men who robbed a cat cafe at gunpoint last week.

Two men, who police believe to be about 20 years old, allegedly robbed Koneko, a Lower East Side cafe filled with adoptable cats. The robbers entered the cafe, located at 26 Clinton St., on July 3 at about 9:30 p.m., an NYPD spokesman told Patch. One of the men brandished a gun and demanded cash from a female employee at the cafe, authorities said. Employees handed over $850 in cash before the robbers fled, according to police. No people or cats were injured during the robbery.

Police were still searching for the duo as of Tuesday, and released surveillance footage of the robbers and asked for the public's help in identifying them.
