Squadron, Niou Endorse Carlina Rivera For City Council
Carlina Rivera gets two more endorsements in her bid for City Council.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY — Two lower Manhattan politicians have added to the growing list of endorsements for Democrat Carlina Rivera, who's vying for a City Council seat in the 2nd district. For more news from the Lower East Side and Chinatown, sign up for Patch news alerts here.
New York State Senator Danield Squadron and Assembly member Yuh-Line Niou announced their joint endorsement on Thursday. Both Squadron and Nious represent parts of lower Manhattan, including the Lower East Side, and Brooklyn in state government
"Having spent years as a community advocate, Carlina is prepared to hit the ground running and advocate for the Lower East Side and its surrounding communities," Assembly member Yuh-Line Niou said in a statement. "I am confident Carlina has the knowledge, experience and energy to take on this challenge, and I look forward to working with her to deliver real results for Lower Manhattan."

Rivera appears well prepared for the City Council election; Democratic primaries for the spot aren't until Sept. 12.
