Stranger Slashes Man's Face In Lower East Side Park: NYPD
The slashing is the latest in a series of attacks at Sara Roosevelt Park.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — A stranger slashed a man across the face in a Lower East Side Park Saturday, police said.
The 34-year-old was attacked near Sara Roosevelt Park on Chrystie Street near Stanton Street at about 1:15 p.m., authorities said.
First responders rushed the man to Bellevue Hospital where he is in stable condition. The victim told authorities he did not know his attacker, police said.

The assault is the latest in a string of bloody attacks at Sara Roosevelt Park.
In August, a homeless man was fatally stabbed inside the park after an argument over the drug K2, and last December a man was stabbed in broad daylight on a park bench after arguing with another park-goer.

Devin Brown, 25, was sentenced to nine years in prison in September after brutally beating a 61-year-old woman near the park.
The vicious assault left the woman with bleeding in her brain after Brown slammed her head against the pavement and repeatedly kicked her motionless body, authorities said.
