Here are the top stories today in Lower East Side-Chinatown:

  1. A man was stabbed repeatedly on Sunday afternoon in Tompkins Square Park. The 35-year-old victim had engaged in an argument with an unidentified suspect before the dispute escalated and the victim suffered stab wounds across his body. The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition while the suspect remains at large. (Patch)
  2. The NYPD arrested a tree-climbing protester at the site of an East Side seawall project on Monday. Work on the East Side Coastal Resiliency project was halted while the local climbed a tree near Corlears Park to prevent it from being uprooted. Several nearby people cheered for the young woman, displaying how many local residents feel about the work being done on the East Side. (AMNY)
  3. The Nine Orchard hotel is prepared for its summertime opening after 10 years of construction. Housed inside the Jarmulowsky Bank Building, the boutique 14-story hotel will open its doors on July 1. The hotel will feature nine bars and restaurants on-site, operated by Ignacio Mattos of Matter House. (Bowery Boogie)
