One robber fired a round into the Chinatown shop's glass front door to make a dramatic escape.

CHINATOWN, NY — A gun-toting robber swiped $100,000 in gems from a Bowery jewelry store and fired a round into a glass door to make a dramatic escape, police said.

Two men entered Lucky Diamond on the Bowery near Hester Street at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. One of the men whipped out a gun as his accomplice raided the store of thousands in gold, sapphires and diamonds, authorities said.

The gunman fired into the store's glass front door before kicking through the shattered door and fleeing north on the Bowery. Both men were dressed in hoodies, police said.
