Here are the top stories today in Lower East Side-Chinatown:
- A man was stabbed and hospitalized after exiting a subway in Lower Manhattan on Wednesday afternoon. The 47-year-old victim was involved in a dispute with the suspect before the attacker spat at he and his wife. The suspect then took out a knife and slashed the man in his arm before fleeing. (NBC NY)
- The Baxter Street restaurant Forlini's is officially closing. The eatery has been open since 1943 , and has become known for its old-school classic Italian dishes. The family owned building that houses it is being sold to undisclosed new owners. (Eater NY)
- Randy Settenbrio, owner of the Blue Moon Hotel, officially declared Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. The Blue Moon has struggled in recent years, even prior to the onset of the pandemic. The property has been for sale many times in the last 15 years, and has racked up $11.2 million in liabilities. (Bowery Boogie)
