The victim suffered head wounds, the NYPD said.
LOWER EAST SIDE, NY — A woman was shoved onto subway train tracks by a stranger on Tuesday night, police said. She had been waiting for an F train at the Second Avenue station on the Lower East Side.
While she was standing on the platform, the unknown man pushed her from behind, sending her falling into the track bed at 8:49 p.m.
The NYPD said officers found her seriously injured with cuts to her head. Good Samaritans had helped pull her up from the tracks before police arrived and there wasn't a train in the station or approaching when she was pushed, authorities said.
