Arrest Made For Deadly Stabbing At Nassau Restaurant: Police

WEST HEMPSTEAD, NY — A woman was stabbed to death at a West Hempstead restaurant early Sunday, and police have announced an arrest, authorities said.

Following a 911 call just after midnight, two victims were discovered in the back of La Candela, located on Hempstead Turnpike, police said.

A 52-year-old woman, identified as Ana Ruth Espinoza of Glen Cove, was stabbed several times an succumbed to her injuries at a hospital, authorities said.

Erick Efren Corado Gonzalez, 27, of Glen Cove, was arrested on Sunday in Linden, New Jersey, police said.

Gonzalez will face an extradition hearing before being transported back to New York for arraignment, police said.

A 50-year-old male victim was treated for his wounds and released, police said.
