The Belmont Stakes is on Saturday, June 8.

SARATOGA, NY — The 2024 Belmont Stakes will not be held at its Nassau County home. Instead, Governor Hochul announced on Wednesday that the third leg of thoroughbred's Triple Crown is heading to the Saratoga Race Course.

The move is being made to accommodate renovations at Belmont Park.

The four-day Belmont Stakes Racing Festival runs from June 6-9, highlighted by the 156th edition of the Belmont Stakes on Saturday, June 8.

While the Belmont is known as "The Test of Champions" because of its 1-1/2 mile course, the length will get shortened to 1-1/4 miles at Saratoga.

Before the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival, the Belmont spring/summer meet will be conducted at Aqueduct Racetrack.
