Three Lynbrook South Middle School students were named winners in the Nassau County 2013 essay and poster contest for the prevention of alcohol abuse and drug addiction.
The theme for this year’s contest was “Be Smart, Don't Start: Say No to Drugs and Alcohol.”

Elizabeth Peresiper took first place, with Shane Barone and John Krendel earing second and third-place awards, respectively.
The students created posters and wrote essays as part of their seventh grade health class under the guidance of teacher Suzanne Amberge.
