Cops: Malverne Man Victim of Hempstead Shooting

The man crashed his car into a house after he was shot in Hempstead Friday night, police said.

Nassau Police have identified the man who crashed his car into a Hempstead home after being shot Friday night.

Gerraud Hill, 30, of Malverne, died at 11:28 p.m. Friday at Mercy Medical Center after an incident on Chase Street, cops said.

At 10:54 p.m., Hill, after being shot, got into a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse and drove away from the scene, police said. Hill only made it around the corner before crashing into a house on nearby Rose Avenue, cops said.

No one inside the home was injured, officials said. The house suffered some structural damage.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call Nassau County Police at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
