Cops: Rockville Centre Woman Drove High with 9-Year-Old in Car
The woman was charged Wednesday afternoon on the Northern State Parkway, police said.

A Rockville Centre woman was arrested Wednesday for driving high on the Northern State Parkway with a child in the car, according to New York State Police.
Troopers received a report of an eastbound car driving erratically on the parkway at 4:20 p.m., officials said.
The car quickly exited the parkway at Wolf Hill Road in Dix Hills and stopped on the exit ramp, cops said.

An off-duty NYPD officer, who saw the car’s behavior, went to the car and detained the driver, Lucitania Espinal, 33, police said.
Espinal was found to be high on drugs and was arrested at the scene, cops said. A 9-year-old child was also in the car and was released to a family member, police said.

Espinal was charged with DWAI under Leandra’s Law, endangering the welfare of a child, and unlawful possession of marijuana. She will be arraigned Thursday at Suffolk County First District Court.
