ROCKVILLE CENTRE

According to Nassau County detectives, around 3:30 a.m. on Sept. 23, a male victim, 21, was on N. Park Avenue when a black male with a shaved head, wearing a white T-shirt, approached him and asked to borrow his cell phone, to which the victim complied. The subject then punched the victim in the face and proceeded to walk north on N. Park Avenue.

Police said the victim followed the subject demanding his phone back when he was then struck in the face again by a second black male, approximately 5-foot-10, wearing a blue and white stripped shirt.

According to police, both subjects fled in an unknown direction with the phone. The victim was transported by ambulance to an area hospital.

A gold-plated sterling silver chalice was stolen from a back-room closet in St. Agnes, officials said.

The value of the chalice is unknown.

According to Nassau County Detectives, a complainant from St. Agnes reported that an unknown subject, without permission, removed the chalice from a rear closet. The chalice is described as gold-plated sterling silver with a crystal node and platinum cross with a female wedding band attached. It was last seen on Sept. 22.

According to Nassau County detectives, around 4:30 a.m. on Sept 23, two female victims, both 21 years old, and two male victims, ages 22 and 23, were walking in the vicinity of 100 N. Centre Ave. when they were approached by two black male subjects.

The first suspect, approximately 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, wearing a black hoodie type sweatshirt, blue jeans, black ski cap and doo-rag, pointed a black handgun at the victims and demanded their personal property, police said.

According to police, the second suspect is described as being anywhere from 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9, with short hair, wearing a blue T-shirt with yellow crime scene type stripes and blue jeans.

The suspects fled the scene on foot northbound on N. Centre Avenue toward Meehan Lane, police said. There were no injuries reported. The proceeds included assorted credit cards, assorted ID cards, a cellular telephone, two wallets, one handbag and an undetermined amount of U.S. currency.

FIVE TOWNS

According to Nassau County detectives, around 12:50 p.m., after having his account blocked at the Citibank on Central Avenue, the defendant, Michael Wright, 22, was asked by bank personnel to respond to the bank to discuss his account.

Wright was the subject of prior fraudulent activities and upon his arrival the police were notified, police said.

According to police, two Fourth Precinct officers responded to the scene and when Wright observed them, he fled the bank. A foot chase ensued and during the process of chasing, apprehending and securing Wright, both officers sustained injuries necessitating treatment at a local hospital. Both officers were treated and released.

Two Inwood men were arrested on Monday after one of them allegedly punched a victim in the eye and slashed him with a landscaping tool, police said.

On Monday around 8 p.m. in Inwood, the 36-year-old male victim came to the Clinton Avenue home of defendant Jose Gomez, 44, to discuss a landscaping job both were working on, according to police. An argument broke out, and Gomez allegedly punched the victim in the eye. Gomez then apparently took out a landscaping tool from his belt pouch and slashed the 36-year-old at his stomach and threw him to the ground, police said.

During the altercation, another man, Nathan Thomas, 28, who also lives on Clinton Avenue, allegedly came over and held the victim down while Gomez reached into his pants pocket and took $1,100 in cash, according to police. The victim was able to free himself, return home and call police.
