Drunken Driver Had Loaded Weapons In Car In Lynbrook: Police
The man was arrested on Thursday night, police say.

Loaded weapons were recovered from a vehicle after the driver was found to be drunk and asleep at the wheel in Lynbrook on Thursday night, police say.
According to authorities, police approached a 2017 Chevrolet Corvette blocking traffic at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Peninsula Boulevard to find the driver William Havel, 61, of Rockville Centre, asleep at the wheel at 7:42 p.m. Police say Havel had blood shot eyes and slurred speech and was subsequently placed under arrest.
Police then seized a loaded .22 magnum David Industries two shot derringer pistol and a loaded .38 Special Davis Industries two shot derringer pistol from inside the vehicle.

Havel was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, driving while intoxicated and four counts of second-degree criminal contempt.
He will be arraigned on Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
