Elmont Gas Station Robbed Monday

Man made it seem he had a gun, fled after getting undisclosed amount of cash.

A man who implied that he had a gun robbed a Shell gas station in Elmont on the night of Nov. 23.

The suspect entered the station at 1360 Hempstead Turnpike at 9:25 p.m., walked behind the counter and demanded money while simulating that he had a gun in his jacket pocket. He was described as between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10, heavy set and wearing a black two-hole knit mask and a black bubble style jacket. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, he fled on foot northbound on Covert Avenue.

No injuries were reported.
