Fight On Nassau Bus Leads To Officers Hospitalized: Police

Palo Howe is charged with assault and resisting arrest from the Wednesday afternoon incident, police said.

WEST HEMPSTEAD, NY — A man was arrested for assaulting a passenger on a Nassau Inter-County Express (NICE) bus on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Palo Howe, 45, of Queens, got irate toward the other passenger in the vicinity of Hempstead Avenue and Westminster Road, police said.

While attempted to place Howe under arrest, two officers sustained injuries as he became violent and combative, authorities said.

The officers were transported to area hospitals for evaluation and treatment. Howe was also taken to a hospital, police said.

He is charged with two counts of second-degree assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, police said. Howe was expected to be arraigned on Thursday.
