Guns, $1M Cash Found In Search Of NY Trooper's Home: Report
Trooper Thomas Mascia, who claimed he was shot last month on the Southern State Parkway, was suspended without pay during the investigation.

FARMINGDALE, NY — State police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting of a trooper in late October. Trooper Thomas Mascia has said he was shot while patrolling on the Southern State Parkway on Oct. 30.
But days after Mascia, 27, was released from Nassau University Medical Center, Nassau County D.A. Anne Donnelly said there were "inconsistencies" in the investigation. Police canceled an alert for the vehicle believed to be connected to the shooting.
State Police Major Stephen Udice said last week, "We have reason to believe that the incident didn't happen the way it was reported."

The trooper was thereafter suspended without pay. His weapon, shield and identification were taken away.
