Injured LI Trooper Suspended Without Pay: State Police
The home of Trooper Thomas Mascia was searched on Monday, state police said.

WEST HEMPSTEAD, NY — Trooper Thomas Mascia, who was shot last week on the Southern State Parkway, has been suspended without pay, state police confirmed to Patch.
Mascia was shot on Wednesday night as he approached a vehicle pulled over near Exit 17.
Mascia's Nassau County home was searched on Monday due to "certain inconsistencies" in the investigation, Nassau District Attorney Anne Donnelly said. A state police spokesperson had no other details about the search.

Additionally, state police canceled the alert for the vehicle believed to be connected to the shooting.
Mascia, 27, was released from an area hospital on Friday.

As the investigation focus on Mascia's residence, a reward, in excess of $15,000, was canceled by the Suffolk County Crime Stoppers.
