Loaded Gun Found In Teen's Car After Being Stopped In Nassau: Police

LAKEVIEW, NY — A teenager was arrested during a traffic stop in Lakeview on Monday night for having a loaded weapon in the vehicle, police said.

Officers noticed a black 2008 Nissan Altima speeding on Woodfield just after 10 p.m., police said.

An investigation revealed a loaded .380 Ruger handgun was inside the car, authorities said.

The driver, a 17-year-old male, was placed under arrest without incident, police said.

He is charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said. He was expected to be arraigned on Tuesday.
